   BAN Deacons Bench
  • Carol Simrell found out during a regular eye exam that she has a hole in her eye. After some further testing she was told her eye tissue was pushing on the retina, and they will keep a close watch on it.
  • Glenn Reed is in the process of having some tests done. We wish him the very best and hope all goes well.
  • Please keep David Shaw in your thoughts and prayers as he is going through a difficult time.
  • Margaret Finch also needs our support and prayers as she is fighting cancer.
  • Once again, please let the Deacons know if we can be of service to any of our church family. Hopefully everyone is getting back on schedule after a busy summer.

Cindy Hauptfleisch

   BAN Christian Education
We thank the Deacons and everyone who has shown love and concern regarding Carol’s eye. We will be continuing Sunday School and always look forward to the fall season. We welcome all old and new members to come join us on Sundays during coffee hour. Please feel free to bring your refreshments with you.

BAN Women Of The Church (WOC)
Keep the next Rummage and Bake Sale on October 7th, 8th, and 9th in mind as you house clean for the fall. Please save your clothing items for our sale. The clothing left from the sale is donated to St. Pauley’s shed in our parking lot, which is also a fundraiser for our church. Remember… it’s a win-win for everyone!

   BAN Coffee Hour
Thanks to Rowena Colgan, Betty Ann Puzo, Bev Emmett, Jan Griffin, Beth Lewis, Nancy Rychlewski, and Bruna Warner for hosting coffee hour during the summer months. Please remember to sign your name on the calendar if you are volunteering for coffee hour.

BAN Summer Sausage & Hot Dog Sales
Many thanks to all those who turned out to assist in our Sausage Sandwich & Hot Dog sales. It is a big job but many hands make it so much easier. Thanks to all of you who gave so willingly of your time, resources, and energy.

Betty Decker

   BAN Member Updates
As of this date, we are still awaiting the news of the birth of twins, Connor Anthony and Ava Grace, to Tony Mangino (son of Nancy and Rick) and his fiancé, Jesi Reilly.

   BAN Operation Write Home
Weather permitting, Beth Lewis of “Memories for Ewe Scrap booking” has had Operation Write Home set up at the table next to the sausage sale. Operation Write Home allows you to make a blank greeting card for free which is sent to our troops stationed around the world. They may use these cards with no cost to them and postage paid to write home or send a birthday greeting, etc. There are also patriotic cards already made that you can write your own message on to our military heroes – again, with no cost for the card or postage to you. This is a wonderful way of saying “thank you” for fighting for our freedom and helping us to stay safe. All materials have been donated by “Memories for Ewe”.

   Stewardship Committee
As of July 31st our year to date general offering and income met our expenses with the exception of our Per Capita which should be paid by year end. July income was substantially higher than previous months and for this we say a big “Thanks & God Bless You”!

Our building fund continues to draw upon designated reserves. For 2010 we have borrowed approximately $16,000. If this trend continues we will run out of reserves and not be able to meet our Mortgage obligations for 2011.

At this time we want to thank those that have continued to meet their building pledges. If you have not been able, we ask that you prayerfully consider your pledge and obligation to the church building fund. If you did not make a pledge and wish to contribute to the building fund, simply make a note on your offering envelope or check as to the amount that should be placed in the building fund. We also ask that you keep our church ministry in your prayers. We know that God has a plan for us and if we listen to him and follow his direction we will continue to be able share His love in this world from our little spot here in Conklin.

Should you have any questions regarding our finances, please see Hal Moore, JP Tschang, or Dana Wolfe. Thanks!

   Mission Committee
Greetings – Shalom! The summer sure did fly by. Hopefully, everyone had fun vacationing, spending time with family and friends, near and far. Maybe you were lucky enough to just relax by the pool and keep cool. It sure has been a hot one! Our Peacemaking Offering is coming up, and I want to challenge everyone to set aside a little bit every day for the month of September. That would be 30 days of pennies, quarters and dollars! Let us reach out this year to those whose lives are in turmoil. They could use your prayers and generous offerings to put some peace back in their lives. Thank you, Bev Emmitt
