CONKLIN PRESBYTERIAN THEATRE GROUP
The mission of the Conklin Presbyterian Theatre Group is to provide an
outreach into the community through quality theatre productions, and to raise
funds to be a source of assistance to those in need in the community at large.
After its debut production of "Jack and the Beanstalk" in 2006, the Theatre
Group was able to donate $1,500 to flood relief for victims of the devastating
flood of June 2006. The Theatre Group would like to be able to continue this
type of assistance for those in need in our community.
So, we encourage anyone interested in either performing in or supporting
the Theatre Group to consider joining us for our next production of "Beauty and
the Beast."

Pre-School
Dear Families,
Conklin Preschool, a mission of the Conklin Presbyterian Church, is a
service to families in the community. It is open to any child whose parents
follow the registration and financial guidelines. The school is operated
through a PresbyCare Advisory Board. The Director is responsible for the
general management of the program; its curriculum, practices and teachers. The
teachers and parent helpers are expected to treat each child as an individual
and each family with respect and confidentiality. Any question arising during
the school year regarding the teaching program, your child's progress, or
program policies are to be channeled through the teachers to the director.
I encourage you to visit the school and your child's class at any time.
Parents are always welcome.
If you have any further questions or suggestions, please do not hesitate
to communicate them to me.

What is accreditation?
Early childhood programs accredited by the National Academy of Early
Childhood Programs have voluntarily undergone a comprehensive process of
internal self-study, invited external professionals to review and verify
compliance with the Academy's Criteria for High Quality Early Childhood
Programs and been found to be in substantial compliance with the criteria.
Conklin Preschool completed the self-study and was reviewed and validated
by an appointed validator in May of 1988. In June of 2004 we again received
word that our program had successfully completed reaccredidation.
What does this mean?
This program has been found to be of high quality, providing a safe and
nurturing environment, while promoting physical, social, emotional and
intellectual development of young children.

SACC
What is School Age ChildCare?
School Aged ChildCare (SACC) is a program in which children of school age
are cared for in a safe, supportive environment. Parents can relax knowing
that their children are in a safe and caring environment that provides
children with an opportunity to express thoughts through creative play and
enrichment activities. p>
Children participate in a variety of indoor/outdoor activities designed to
stimulate development and creativity. We also encourage sportsmanship, peer
leadership and problem solving skills.
What will the children be doing?
Our summer program includes swimming field trips, arts and crafts, summer
Olympics, special days like Survivor, bike riding and pajama party days.
Children arrive at the program anytime after 6:30 am, sign in and enjoy a
healthy breakfast provided by the program so they can start their day right!
During the school year, the bus to school picks them up at 9:00 am. After
school the children return, via bus at 3:00 pm and enjoy a snack. They can
choose from a variety of activities that are planned or they can choose for
themselves from a game of pool or foosball, or enjoy the creations they can
make with the items in our art center. There is also an opportunity to do
homework in the afternoon since they may stay as late as 5:50 pm.
Staff Responsibilities:
Our program is licensed by the State of New York and directed by
qualified, professional, experienced staff trained in childcare related
topics. We maintain a ratio of 1 staff member to 10 children. Our staff
responsibilities are to guide and direct children in a manner that is safe for
them and the other children around them. All staff is trained in CPR and first
aid and four out of six staff members are allowed to administer medication.
For more information, contact SACC Director Lori Haughton (email: shaughton11@yahoo.com).
Kenya Project
Each month we offer alms on Communion Sunday. Our goal is for each family
to contribute one dollar per week with the total to be given along with our
offering on Communion Sunday. The footprint is the symbol of our mission as
try to make small steps to link the people of Conklin, N.Y. to the people of
Kajiado, Kenya. We hope that by keeping the people of Africa in our hearts we
help to bring the awareness of Christ's presence in the world.
